Boundless Connections and Strength Solutions are collaborating to develop a pipeline which develops and retains tech talent and increases the tech literacy of the entire workforce.

The TECH  Connect program is for anyone 17 and over to explore their personal interest while learning coding/programming, augmented and virtual reality, graphic art, 3d printing, animation, online broadcasting/podcasts, game development, and/or video/audio editing. This group meets once a week to collaborate on various tech projects in service to the community.

Our facilitators assist with project management and connecting with the community. This is an opportunity to add the advantages of technology to your individual interests. You take the lead; we add tech and a comfortable place to connect with others.

Goals of the Program:

• Available to anyone over 17 with an interest in digital tech
• Appeal to a diverse group of participants
• Flexible for various schedules
• Blend various technology skills to be of service to the community
• Participant driven – participants choose projects to work on
• Develop essential skills (communication, presentations, time management, etc.)
• Gain teamwork and leadership experience
• Year round program for various abilities and interests
• Interaction with local companies and organizations

This open enrollment program is self-paced, allowing flexibility for when life happens. While the group meets once a week, the 4 day passes per month can be used any time to work on the projects and connect with others at the tech center. While the community service projects are the glue that keeps the group focused on developing their tech skills, participants also get real time experience with project and time management, leadership and team building, public speaking, research, and industry networking.

This is an opportunity to explore the cross between technology and your personal interests. The projects can lead to job opportunities, promotions, side gigs, and entrepreneurial endeavors.

TECH Connect is an introduction to many aspects of technology for the participants, but they don’t have to be specifically interested in a tech career.  Many of our participants start with curiosity about new tech or what kind of tech is available for their interests, and they stay because we create a comfortable atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.  Our collaborative environment means you don’t have to figure it out alone – we all look out for each other.
